So more and more of our friends are starting to learn how to make good espressos and pour latte arts, I thought to record our learning experience, in case you are interested in doing it yourself too.
When we started learning making latte art and coffee at home, I started chatting with the baristas from the local coffee shops, where I still bought coffee from. One expert local toaster in Boston who happened to be a really kind and good barista shared his tips with me while he was making my latte that morning. “It is not hard as long as you put heart to it, there are a few essentials you need to pay attention to: 1)you gotta have a good coffee machine, 2),you need to have good coffee beans, 3)you need to have great milk, and 4)it’s the people who make the latte art that matters (aka the barista). So right after that cup of latte in that morning, we went home and listed our $75 dollars discounted coffee maker for sell, and started hunting a good coffee machine.
After tons of research done by my hobby, we went ahead and purchased our very first advance level espresso machine – Breville dual boiler. I have a review about it in this post if you’re interested to learn more about it’s performance. We then also chose to buy the same milk the local barista bought from, milk from the local farms. I then tried to use the same milk frothing method I learned from Youtube channels, and BOOM!!! the first latte art EVER. After 3 months practicing with a cheap $75 coffee machine and low cost milk, I finally succeed with making my first cup of latte art coffee. This is all because of a change of coffee machine, a change of milk selection, TONS of practice frothing and pouring, and of course, a bag of good coffee beans. So, there you go, rule of MBMB – Machine, Bean, Milk, and Barista.
Now, if you’re still scratching your head about what is going on with your latte art practice, try to tweak one of these four reasons and let me know if you are still not able to pour a good cup of latte art. Feel free to always leave a message below and I’m happy to help trouble shoot in anyway. Happy pouring!
This is so exciting, keep it up!! Cheers.Thank you for sharing
